To kick off our new Discovery series giving you the opportunity to explore and taste some of the best new innovators and producers in the Natural Wine World we have, SETE.

SETE is an agricultural, social, and cultural project of two young friends Arcangelo Galuppi and Emiliano Giorgi. The duo kicked off their project in 2013 where Arcangelo and Emiliano recovered a number of old, abandoned, and unused vineyards around the Amaseno Valley of Southern Lazio. Once operational they declined using the easy to grow and readily available grapes and instead focused their efforts on growing some super rare and indigenous grape varieties including the likes of Ottonese, Cesanese, and Malvasia Puntinat. The end result being some super unique, funky af wines that we just cant get enough of.

We really do love this lot and in what is becoming quite a saturated market with so many new producers popping up think these guys are special with some incredible wines, 3 of which we've picked below for this pack

Sete Safara Orange 2019 is a skin-contact (orange) natural wine made from a blend of Ottonese, Trebbiano, and Malvasia Puntinata grapes grown in Lazio, Central Italy. Grapes are fermented and aged on the lees for 8 months in stainless steel with absolutely no chemicals in the vineyards, no added sulfites, unfined, and unfiltered. As with many SETE wines think tropical fruits here with just the right amount of acidity!

Producer: SETE
Region: Lazio, Italy
GrapesOttonese, Trebbiano, Malvasia Puntinata
Style: Orange
Size: 75cl bottle

SETE Alimento Orange is a skin-contact (orange) natural wine made from a blend of white grapes grown in Lazio, Central Italy. About 5 days of skin contact, aged in stainless steel. On the palate orange rind with a light body that made this a dangerously smashable bottle for us! Absolutely zero chemicals in the vineyards, no added sulfites, unfined, and unfiltered.
Producer: SETE

Grapes: 100% Ottonese

Pretty iconic wine here with Natural WIne bars from London to South Korea displaying this bottle's poster on their walls. The Plageoles family are seventh-generation  winemakers who from their 23-hectare vineyard have long been producing incredible wines from local Gaillac grape varieties. Terroiristes Rouge 4 is far from being style over substance backing up the great label art with an even better juice. Made from a blend of over 10 different grapes this a nose of plum and red slush puppies. On the palate the fruit theme continues with strawberry jam and a medium line of acidity.

Le Coste, Ripazzo Bianco 2018

Regular price £23.50

Absolute beauty here and a good entry wine for those who haven't indulged in a lot of Skin Contact wines. The grapes are hand-harvested and fermented dry using the skins of the same wine from last year's harvest. Made from young vines of Procanico and Malvasia the end result is a rustic amber wine with plenty of citrus fruit, firm tannins and no shortage of energy. Nothing is added at any stage of the winemaking process, pure natty goodness.

The Le Coste duo are Clementine Bouveron and Gianmarco Antonuzzi who met in France while working for the guru Gerard Schueller in Alsace, France. The pair spent over 2years working with some of France’s most renowned producers before deciding to move back to Gianmarco’s village of Gradoli in Lazio’s north. Since moving back the pair have reinvigorated local grapes and are now making some of the most respected and original wines in the Natural Wine game.

Patrick Bouju x Jason Ligas, Octave 2018

Patrick Bouju x Jason Ligas, Octave 2018

Regular price £32.50
/
Tax included.

Sous le Végétal is a super exciting collab between legendary French maestro Patrick Bouju, young Greek winemaker Jason Ligas and Ochin Clovis (You may remember him from Action Bronson's hit VICE series "From Paris With Love").

Octave got its name due to the eight terraces the vines are planted on around Mount Karvounis, Greece and is a gentle direct-press of Muscat de Samos fermented in a mixture of concrete and amphora. The use of different vineyards brings a diverse mixture of soil types to the blend; limestone schist and quartz as well as the volcanic basalt. The vessels bring a fine-grained texture to the wine and the careful extraction a delicate clarity to the aromas, which really start to open out once the wine has been open for a little while.

A new one from IL Ceo who were the ones behind our favourite red of 2020 (that's just been restocked FYI!) Pirka. Groppea Rosso is from the volcanic hills of Breganze, Mason and Fara Vicentina, 80% Groppella (native red variety) and 20% Vespaiola from old vines planted on flat basalt rich in iron and silex. Carbonic maceration for 25 days in steel tank, co-fermentation without temperature control and 6 months in vats before bottling. Gropella traditionally produces tannic red wines, strong and with a lot of acidity, but the carbonic maceration gives makes this unusually juicy. Overall an energetic light red, full of red summer fruit, a smoky hint and a vibrant minerality. BANGER!!!

Sous le Végétal is a super exciting collab between legendary French maestro Patrick Bouju, young Greek winemaker Jason Ligas and Ochin Clovis (You may remember him from Action Bronson's hit VICE series "From Paris With Love").

Hüpnos, which translates as 'sleep' in Greek, refers to the dormant volcano Mount Karvounis where the vineyard for this particular wine is located. The grapes are grown on soils that are a mixture of basalt and limestone, well-known for the electrifying effects they can have on wines from other volcanic sites. This particular wine is a bit of an experiment with maceration, and to ensure the aromatic components of the grapes are retained as much as possible the grapes are hand harvested in the cool of the night, followed by a long whole-bunch maceration of 40 days in steel then some time in big old 500-litre barrels. Unsurprisingly Hüpnos is the most complex of Sous le Végétal collection; layered aromatics, texture, tension, and a punch dose ofminerality.

Sous le Végétal is a super exciting collab between legendary French maestro Patrick Bouju, young Greek winemaker Jason Ligas and Ochin Clovis (You may remember him from Action Bronson's hit VICE series "From Paris With Love").

Out of all this projects wines, Livia represents the best entry-point to start the journey through the Sous le Végétal project. Livia is a broad, full direct-press white wine fermented half in steel and half in huge 500-litre barrels. The soil type here is mainly limestone-based and the vines stand over a mixture of schist and quartz, lending the wines a super stony salinity. The wine has a creamy mouth-coating texture, floral aromas and a finish that goes on, and on, and on......

We are forever being asked for our suggestions on whats hot to drink so we thought why not put together a pack on what we are currently drinking down in Juiced Wines HQ. Now, these packs arent always going to be what's fresh in more down to what we think is ageing well or just our firm faves.

In the second of the series we focus on three different producers, Legend in the game Patrick Bouju, One of our favourite newly found gems Do.T.E and Aussy mavericks BK Wines. All 3 wines are banging and the SYrup due to allocations is actually exclusive to this pack!

First up and exclusive to Juiced Recommends Volume 2 is Do.T.E's sYrup 2019. Harvested on August 24th the grapes are spontaneously whole–cluster fermented (full carbonic maceration) in wood then spend 9 days of skin contact before being aged separately for 5 months in one 7 HL concrete egg and three old barriques. Bottled without clarification and filtration this is an elegant smashable fruity juice that we're already gutted we didn't try and secure more of.

Second in this trio is Bouju's CCV, a unique marriage of Chardonnay, Chenin and Viognier...CCV. A super elegant, aromatic, fragrant and super minerally white that's got peach, lemon and hallmark Bouju acidity.

Last but certainly not least is BK Wines Pet Nat Pinot Noir 2020. On the nose, toasted marshmallow frizzante at first glance but the pure essence of Pinot Noir on deeper inhalation. A bright, pretty palate of strawberries and cream custard – it’s basically dessert and champagne served together in the same glass. This wine is both an enticingly rosy, ebullient demonstration of the continuous flow of fermentation straight to bottle and a surprisingly accomplished Burgundy.

And there you have it, what we are loving at the mo. Volume 3 to come when 3 more wines really get our attention.

Recently dubbed as ‘hipster bubbles’ Pétillant Naturel or Pet Nat for short is essentially a natural sparkling wine. The majority are naturally made meaning the wine has been made with minimal intervention from the winemaker during production, who instead leaves nature to do its job and develop the carbonation and finished product in the bottle.

Given we've had so many new sparklers through the door recently we've rounded the 3 baddest bubbles into our new curated pack "Pet Nat Posse"

First up is Splash! a banging and lively 9% Pet Nat made without sulphur from a plot of 40 year old Semillon vines grown in clay and limestone. Super zesty lemon and lime aromas at first with a touch of fresh meadows and plenty of fizz. A great fun wine!

Producer: Chateau Barouillet
Region: France
Grapes: Semillon

One of the coolest labels in the game, Pash Rash from producers Borachio who are without a doubt the leaders in quirky label art and names with this one not disappointing. This year sees quenchy grapefruit flavours married with fresh strawberry in a delicious fizzy hit. It's essential this is served chilled!

And finally a certified all-round banger of wine and one we tried but failed to secure earlier in the year! Over the past decade, wines from Eastern Europe have come into their own having previously been seen as the place for commercial and high volume "table wine". Over the past 4-5 years, in particular, there has been a big emergence of producers ripping up the rule book and creating some spellbinding Natural wines. In our first collection in the series focusing on the delights to come out of Eastern Europe, we focus on the Czech Republic and specifically two producers Petr Korab and Krasna Hora who really are making a name for themselves in the Natural Wine world.

First up we have an exceptional and super limited release of Petr Korabs ad-hoc wine, Orange Future Sekt (Petr only makes this wine when the harvest is truly perfect). Future Sekt is made from long skin macerated Riesling and Gruner Veltliner with the addition of gently pressed juice from Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc to make a very unique wine and a true expression of Korab's vineyards.

Second up is Ruby from Krasna Hora. A field blend where each variety is fermented separately in 1000L barrels for one month on skins in open vats. Sour cherry on the nose with big bright red fruits and a real richness on the palate. A genuine banger this and one you should definitely try!

And finally is another new one from Czech maverick Petr Korab. Milkmann is a funky little Pet-Nat made in the traditional method where the wine is left to finish fermenting after being bottle resulting in CO2 dissolving in the bottle to give the fizz. A unique pinky-yellow colour which has a creamy mouthfeel and an abundance of red fruits with a structure and complexity courtesy of the Pinot Blanc. Has a slight bitterness in the after taste which we love, medium-high funk.

Style: Sparkling
Size: 75cl Bottle

One of the coolest labels in the game, Pash Rash from producers Borachio who are without a doubt the leaders in quirky label art and names with this one not disappointing. Made from Mount Compass Pinot Noir, picked, pressed, bottled. Simple...ish? This year sees quenchy grapefruit flavours married with fresh strawberry in a delicious fizzy hit. It's essential this is served chilled!

Producer: Borachio
Region: Australia
Grapes: Pinot Noir
Style: Sparkling
Size: 75cl bottle

And finally a certified all-round banger of wine and one we tried but failed to secure earlier in the year! Pino Citron is a pet-nat made from a concoction of Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc bursting with grapefruit juice and green apple vibes and a silky touch of salinity. One for the acid lovers here!

Producer: Christophe Lindenlaub
Region: Alsace, France
Grapes: Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc
Style: Sparkling
Size: 75cl bottle

"I want a Juicy wine" is easily the most requested thing we get asked here at Juiced, so in our quest to make things easy AF for you to try the best Natural Wine has to offer we have created "The Juice Pack". This 3 pack brings you wines from Spain, Italy and the Czech Republic all super juicy but each one super unique!

First up is Miscela by Lammidia, a wine expertly mixed with red and white grapes. Spontaneous fermentation and aging in steel tanks. A wine that presents itself with the right aromaticity, freshness, and body, and is distinguished by the ease and promptness of a quick sip.

Second up is Calcurius Orange with pure sunshine in a bottle. Taste-wise your hit with a tangerine punch and a subtle citrus tang. At 11% alcohol and coming in a 1 litre bottle its a fantastic Orange Wine with just the right amount of funk but with maximum juice.

Last but certainly not least is a brand new drop from the Czech wine wizards Sklep58. Kosmonaut is a Rosé wine made from Andre grapes which were hand harvested in Sluný Vrch (Sunny Hill) vineyard. Grapes were de-stemmed crushed and let for 24 hour long maceration. The wine is then aged in old oak 225L for 7 months from where the wine is directly bottled without filtering nor fining. No sulphites have been added to the wine and its fully vegan.

NOTE: Due to allocations affected by COVID Kosmonaut maybe replaced by Sklep 58's other juicy banger, PartyZan Red

First up is Festejar Rose 2019 from Bouju, A Gamay Pet Nat with notes of blackberry and cranberry, with a plummy finish and acidic twang. Dangerously smashable at 10.5% and was one of the stand out wines we tried on our latest Natty tour to Paris.

Next in is arguably one of the famous wines in Natural Wine arena Frank Cornelissen's Suscaru Rosato. A mind glowingly beautiful Rose made from Malvasia, Moscadella, Insolia and Nerello Mascalese. Although being super light and crisp it screams Etna is a fantastic wine for Natural newbies and connoisseurs alike.

And finally, we have one of the Orange wines of the year, Bianco Carbo by Lammidia. A funky, super fruity number with big hits of overripe mango, lots of citrus and a nice touch of acidity. Grapes macerated for over 2 weeks. Note due to allocations this maybe changed to Lammidia Bianco Anfora.

Regular price £49.00

One for you all you white wine lovers! This cheeky little duo is from Australian mavericks Gentle Folk who have over the past few years got huge attention (and rightly so!) and a cult following from across the world.

First up is Clouds which is named after the fact that the vineyard that produces the grapes spends half its life in the clouds. A crowd-pleasing Riesling that is super fresh, pure with minimal funk and crisp acidity.

Producer: Gentle Folk
Region: Adelaide Hills, Australia
Grapes: Riesling
Style: White
Size: 75cl bottle

Next up is Summertown Blanc which is a brand new vineyard for the Gentle Folk guys in 2019. The Cottell family vineyard is a 1.1ha block of relatively old vines in the very beautiful Summertown/ Ashton valley that is home to many a great vineyard. The northerly aspect allows the fruit to ripen fully and leave behind many of the less desirable Sauvignon characters. It’s a generous and full-bodied wine with great depth and character which still holds a great acid line. An absolute belter and already an established fan favourite!

Sicily's godfather of Natural Wine Frank Cornelissen produces some of the world's most spellbinding wines from the bottom of Mount Etna. Franks philosophy has and will always be to produce wines in line with nature from his 24-hectare vineyard where his no-compromise approach and meticulous approach to farming has put him at the forefront of the Natural Wine movement. The Juiced Wines x Frank Cornelissen Duo pack includes two of our personal favourites the 2018 Susucaru Etna Rosso and its older brother Munjebel Rosso 2015. Susacaru Etna Rosso is without a doubt some of his finest work. Earthy with a fruit-forward approach consisting of red plum and fresh pomegranate it's a beautiful fairly simple wine that is super drinkable and a great wine to truly appreciate the art of Natural Wine making. The Munjebel Rosso is a bolder, darker, richer wine with a far bigger fruit punch than its younger sibling. Be prepared for a much more complex mouthfeel and an irresistible woody aftertone.

Discover "SETE" Nat Pack™

Regular price £83.00

Region: Lazio, Italy
Grapes: 100% Ottonese
Style: Orange
Size: 75cl bottle

SETE Freaky is a naughty little rose made from a blend of local grape varieties. Slight cranberry on the nose rolling into a fruity explosion ending fairly dry. 100% Natural Wine with absolutely no chemicals in the vineyards, no added sulfites, unfined, and unfiltered. Biodynamic farming

Regular price £75.00

Fresh in the building and a wine perfect for these colder nights is Le Primeur 2019 by Le Coste di Gradoli. A red natural wine made from carbonic maceration Aleatico grapes, fermented spontaneously with native yeasts, unfiltered, unfined, no added sulfites, and vegan. The FULL Natural treatment.

Gianmarco Antonuzzi and Clémentine Bouveron tend around 14 hectares of land, with vineyards amongst olive groves, chestnut trees, shrubs and oaks. Sat around Lago di Bolsena near Gianmarco’s childhood town of Gradoli in Lazio’s north, the soils are volcanic, rich in iron and minerals. Vines are planted at a density of up to 10,000 plants per hectare, from a mix of massale selections and ungrafted vines. Everything is done by hand, with careful attention to the needs of each plant and while biodynamic principles are employed, the approach here goes above and beyond. Each year they produce a dizzying number of different wines which are vinified in an ancient cellar in the village’s centre where nothing is added at any stage. To taste here is a real treat, Gianmarco is a master of élevage and a real patience in this respect results in some of the purest, most delicious wines we have tried. This is a fascinating project, where the passion and dedication of two people is single handedly putting one of Italy’s lesser known villages firmly on the map.

Renegade is an urban winery making wines ln London, they obtain grapes from a variety of vineyards across Europe and make natural wines in house.

Think rightbank Bordeaux. Kinda. This wine is nothing like you’d expect from Albanian grapes.  Silky, balanced tannins, blackcurrant, spice, a super complex and evolving wine that can age as well as any premium Bordeaux.

Partida Creus, VN 2019

Partida Creus, VN 2019

Regular price £22.00

2019 Vintage! Partida Creus's VN, or Vinel·lo, is a unique blend of seven different grape varieties, Trepat, Sumoll, Garrut, Queixal de Llop, Ull de Perdiu, Garnacha, and Samsó. It drinks like a light Jura but is much more drinkable, get this slightly chilled and it will disappear before your eyes!

Partida Creus is the project from two Italians (Massimo and Antonella) who now produce just south of Barcelona in the Tarragona region. The thought process of the PC project was to work with historical and forgotten local varietals that in many cases were not recognised by the D.O. of the area: Penedès. The pair worked tirelessly for years buying up tiny plots of abandoned vineyards scattered around the area where mostly unknown varietals such as Garrut, Vinyater, Samsó and Queixal de Llop grew. The project has constantly produced banger after banger, all of which have a very distinctive house style - raw, natural and pungent reds, and funky, fresh, expressive whites.

Producer: Partida Creus
Region: Bonastre, Tarragona, Spain
Grapes: Trepat, Sumoll, Garrut, Queixal de Llop, Ull de Perdiu, Garnacha, and Samsó

Brendan Tracey, Pour Une Poignée de Bouteilles 2018

Brendan Tracey, Pour Une Poignée de Bouteilles 2018

Regular price £24.00

An absolutely mind-bogglingly good wine from the man, the myth, the legend - Brendan Tracey. Made from Pinot Noir, Gamay and Côt (Malbec) all work in perfect harmony to produce a wine as ridiculous as its label. Juicy, summery, easy-drinking fun with heavy strawberry and red cheery notes.

Brendan Tracey half-French, half-American winemaker, who in a previous life was lead singer in San Franciscan punk band The Insults, and who grows none of his own grapes, instead relying on a network of like-minded growers near his home in the Loire Valley’s northern reaches. Brendan has an uncanny skill in producing wines of esoteric drinkability that are an unfailing match for a sunny day spent outside.

Producer: Brendan Tracey
Region: Loire, France
Grapes: Côt, Gamay , Pinot Noir
Style: Red
