Fleur brings us yet another incredible cuvee, this time a collaboration with the iconic Athenaïs de Béru. Witches 2018 is made from Gamay sourced from the granitic soils in Brouilly and vinified using whole clusters. After fermentation sugars are finished in old Burgundy barrels where the wine ages for up to 16 months. This results in a fragrant and punch Gamay with dried blueberry, lavender, and rosemary notes on the nose whilst the palate is complex and juicy with a long finish. Work of art this one...
With her wine-making project 'Vins et Volailles', she takes over and renames the family business, a poultry specialist farm based in the Dordogne, and started co-producing and distributing limited editions of incredible and unique natural wines. Each Wine and label is designed by Justine, and they use the opportunity to call out the overly patriarchal and misogynistic attitude of the wine industry and society at large.
