Austria’s flagship variety. A dry and crisp white, with hints of minerality, flavours of melon, lemon and a distinctive spice to the finish – Grüner is known as “the pepper vine” as a consequence.
This wine was one of the first produced by the now-renowned Meinklang. A vanguard member of the natural wine scene, they are innovative and holistic producers in Burgenland, on the border between Hungary and Austria, and we’re delights to work with their wines.
Meinklang are one of the scene's largest, most impressive, and chemical-free wineries based out in the picturesque Burgenland region in Austria. Ran by Angelina and Werner Michlits, what's unusual about Meinklang is how they consistently achieve such quality in winemaking on such a colossal scale compared to most. They remain one of the best value producers across the globe and have a pretty impressive portfolio of wines appealing to entry-level natural wine drinkers and pro's alike.
