The Durrmanns are renowned for creating wines that celebrate the diversity of the Andlau soils, This means that grapes planted on different soils in the vineyard, express the different terroirs. chosen terroir. The Riesling sur Gres is one that bursts with high energy and zippy citrus notes. A zero/zero wine with no sulphur or any additives whatsoever.
Located in the charming village of Andlau in Alsace, the Durrmann family has been producing organic wines from their ancestral home since 1979, with son Yann taking over the reigns last year. They firmly believe in the quality of their grapes and terroir, and aim to preserve this quality with minimal intervention in the winery, employing natural production techniques such as the use of native yeasts and low-to-no addition of sulphur. Part of the production is vinified in stainless steel while the rest is aged on old wooden casks. This results in wines that are balanced, precise, and elegant, with a purity and depth that can only come from careful natural winemaking.
