First up is the 2021 Syrah from Vin Pop, a light and super drinkable take on what can be a pretty heavy grape to work with. An abundance of Blackcurrant and bramble fruits on the palate with a slightly spicy kind of cinnamon vibe on the nose. Juicy, refreshing, and a wine for all seasons!

Next is Graciana Familia 2020 from Bodega Cecchin, a deep red with big aromas of spice, vanilla, and wild raspberries. In the mouth, it is round and smooth with more red fruit flavours combining the sweet tannins and a long satisfying finish.

Peleponnese 2021 from Strofilia is next, a pretty serious Greek Red made from 100% Agiorgitiko. The nose shows notes of wild cherry and red fruits, whilst the palate is smooth and aromatic with a velvety finish bursting with clove and a touch of vanilla.

To finish off we have an unbelievably good value introduction to Austrian reds from winemaking magician, Gerhard Pittnauer, Velvet NV. A blend of Zweigelt and Blaufränkisch, which come together for an Austrian take on Pinot Noir - light to medium body, with dark cherry and spice. Oh, and it has a wonderful velvety texture, too!
