Natural orange wine bursting with fruity and herbal notes. Lemon, Orange and peach skin flavours, plus masses of powerful stone fruits. The '20 marks a slight stylistic change for Leuto: the vinification methods were split into thirds: one direct-press, one a 20-day destemmed maceration, and one a proper carbonic maceration of 15 days. Pressed and assembled together as fermentation was finishing, raised in oak barriques for 9 months before bottling with no additions.
Young Piemonte winemakers Pauline and Francesco of Tenuta Foresto follow the Fukuoka method of farming; a practice pioneered by Japanese farmer and philosopher Masunobu Fukuoka who referred to his work as ‘do-nothing farming.’ His methodology promoted minimal interference in the agricultural process; creating conditions in which natural processes left to their own accord maximise outputs.
