GLOU GLOU Volume 3 Nat Pack™
Glou Glou, for those who are wondering WTF it is, translates in french to "Glug Glug" as in the sound a bottle makes when you pour at a rather liberal rate into a glass, or even better, directly into your mouth. Glou Glou is essentially a slang term for super smashable, easy to drink and dangerously delicious wine. Typically these tend to be refreshing light reds like your Beaujolais, however more and more with Natural wines these can be any type of wine.
With Glou Glou being admittedly our favourite, we have put together 3 of the most "Glou Glou" wines we have in the warehouse for you to smash down... sorry, sip!
First up is an absolute stunner from Italian Producer Matteo Furlani. Rosso20 is a light red made to rival some of the finest Jura's around. This wine may have been conceived as a rival to the Jura but it’s oh-so-Trentino. Still fresh and bright but with all the aromas of a wild field of flowers with a smashable profile with bursts of berries and almost-ripe tart peach.
Producer: Matteo Furlani
Region: Trentino, Italy
Grapes: Pavana della Valsugana, Negrara, Marzemino, Teroldego, Lagrein
Second up is aA fruity jam monster of a wine from Australian producer James Erskine, one of Australia's Natural Wine pioneers. The Grapes are harvested manually and undergo 30% carbonic maceration in picking bins, half-destemmed, half whole cluster before being fermented in a mix of tank and barrel and then aged in used barrels. Flavour wise this packs a huge punch of raspberry, volcanic spice, violets and rose. BANGER!
Region: Mclaren Vale, Australia
Size: 75cl bottle
Last but not least is Groll ‘n’ Roll from legendary French producer, Babass. Made from 100% Grolleau and although a little richer than it has been in previous vintages, remains one of the juiciest Natural Wines to pass our lips. Lots of the savoury black fruit we associate with this lesser-sung grape. Babass is often complimented on his meticulous attention to detail when it comes to his soils. This in turn is credited to the texture, poise and delicacy to be found in the finished
