One of our favourite labels of the year, this! Orange Mauzanic from producer Jean-Louis Pinto is made using the local grape variety, Mauzac, which is fermented on skins for over 50 days before ageing in acacia and oak barrels. The result is a truly unique and savoury orange wine with shed loads of exotic notes, smokey BBQ and fresh citrus, and stone fruits.
Es d'Aqui is the brainchild of Jean-Louis Pinto, a small artisanal producer based outside Limoux who works out of a tiny cellar underneath his family home. He is one of the countries' producers spearheading biodynamic farming, and has a minimal intervention approach in the winery with all wines made without temperature control or any added sulphur.
