Domaine Durrmann, Sylvaner 2022
- In stock, ready to ship
- Inventory on the way
A zingy, straw in colour Sylvaner from the Durmann crew. On the nose, it is a very floral affair with hints of spice shining through as well. The palette is zippy and fresh with apple, pear, zesty lemon, and elderflower underpinned by a lovely body and good acidity.
Located in the charming village of Andlau in Alsace, the Durrmann family has been producing organic wines from their ancestral home since 1979, with son Yann taking over the reigns last year. They firmly believe in the quality of their grapes and terroir, and aim to preserve this quality with minimal intervention in the winery, employing natural production techniques such as the use of native yeasts and low-to-no addition of sulphur. Part of the production is vinified in stainless steel while the rest is aged on old wooden casks. This results in wines that are balanced, precise, and elegant, with a purity and depth that can only come from careful natural winemaking.
