An assemblage of 13 grape varieties, white and red blended together. It lends the aromatics and floral notes of white then layers the red fruit of red. Notes of smoked barley, crushed cranberry, marjoram, strawberry, and raspberry. The body is light but with a certain depth and concentration. There is candied fruit, a floral side and forest fruits.
Lori Haon biodynamically farms a dizzying array of varieties spread over 24 hectares in the Cotes du Rhone, and whilst not currently certified, his organic application is in the post. In the cellar, work follows a combination of Lori's intuition, knowledge and sheer drive. He has two approaches to his wines; some are bottled as an explicit expression of terroir, the others are field blends with an end goal in mind, the blend and vinification changing each year depending on what the harvest has given.
