To kick off our new Discovery series giving you the opportunity to explore and taste some of the best new innovators and producers in the Natural Wine World we have, SETE.
SETE is an agricultural, social, and cultural project of two young friends Arcangelo Galuppi and Emiliano Giorgi. The duo kicked off their project in 2013 where Arcangelo and Emiliano recovered a number of old, abandoned, and unused vineyards around the Amaseno Valley of Southern Lazio. Once operational they declined using the easy to grow and readily available grapes and instead focused their efforts on growing some super rare and indigenous grape varieties including the likes of Ottonese, Cesanese, and Malvasia Puntinat. The end result being some super unique, funky AF wines that we just can't get enough of.
We really do love this lot and in what is becoming quite a saturated market with so many new producers popping up think these guys are special with some incredible wines, 3 of which we've picked below for this pack
Sete Safara Orange 2019 is a skin-contact (orange) natural wine made from a blend of Ottonese, Trebbiano, and Malvasia Puntinata grapes grown in Lazio, Central Italy. Grapes are fermented and aged on the lees for 8 months in stainless steel with absolutely no chemicals in the vineyards, no added sulfites, unfined, and unfiltered. As with many SETE wines think tropical fruits here with just the right amount of acidity!
SETE Alimento Orange is a skin-contact (orange) natural wine made from a blend of white grapes grown in Lazio, Central Italy. About 5 days of skin contact, aged in stainless steel. On the palate orange rind with a light body that made this a dangerously smashable bottle for us! Absolutely zero chemicals in the vineyards, no added sulfites, unfined, and unfiltered.
SETE Freaky is a naughty little rose made from a blend of local grape varieties. Slight cranberry on the nose rolling into a fruity explosion ending fairly dry. 100% Natural Wine with absolutely no chemicals in the vineyards, no added sulfites, unfined, and unfiltered. Biodynamic farming.
