Ottavio is another fantastic wine from Cascina Tavijn made from Grignolino off young vines planted over sand, silt and limestone. The grapes were destemmed and macerated for two months before being pressed off to vats until the summer. Rugged and savoury with explosions of juicy red berries, exotic spice and firm, lightly bitter tannins.

Cascina Tavijn is the brainchild of Nadia Verrua’s family who have been making wines in the hills of Monferrato, Italy for over a century. Their vineyard comprises of over ten hectares of land which is farmed organically and split equally between vines bearing local grape varieties and hazelnut trees. All of Nadia's wines are fermented with wild yeasts and produced in a mixture of big old botti, fibreglass and cement.
