Anne & Jean-Francois Ganevat, Les Resistants 2017
A wine you very rarely see online instead gracing the tables of the worlds 50 best restaurants. Les Resistants is a Savagnin made from several plots in Jura, fermented with indigenous yeasts before 3 years' ageing in 600 litre barrels and bottling without fining, flitration or sulphur. An incredibly powerful and structured example of a perfectly made white wine from the arguably one of the worlds very best winemakers. On the palate your treated to a real mix of green fruits alongside nut, earth and spice aromas.
Jean-Francois Ganevat is an iconic winemaker, heralded not just as one of the best vignerons in Jura but in the natural wine world full stop. His family have deep roots in Jura, and Jean-Francois began by working alongside his father in the 1970s. Formal training at wine school followed and thereafter a stint in Burgundy with Domaine Marc Morey, before Jean-Francois returned to take over the family business in 1998 where his legendary reputation has grown stronger with each passing year.
