New and Exclusive to Juiced Wines are the wines from Florian Schuhmann's revolutionary Austrian natural wine project, Quantum Winery. We first tasted these wines on a trip to Vienna back in 2020 and instantly fell in love with the wines, style and awesome bottle designs. Florian swears by making 100% fermented grape juice - untouched & unfiltered from his small and relatively new winery based out in Maissau, Austria. First up is Heresy Rose 2022, a wine that uses wine and grapes from the entire vineyard (around 10 in total) to make one of the juiciest, fruit-forward rose's to pass our lips in a long time! All the grapes are from granite soil and spend 3 days on skins giving the wine a bit of depth whilst still retaining its freshness. It's all berries with this one, ripe strawberries, and zingy raspberry notes with a light mineral finish
When you think of Austrian wine, Blaufränkisch has got to be up there, and Quantum Winery's Dekonstruktion 2021 is an incredible representation of how great the grape is. The fruit is grown on granite and Diatomaceous soil and spends 4 days on skins before bottling. Medium-to-light bodied with solid tannic structure and bold acidity. On the nose, it's red currant, black cherry, and blackberry fruit notes intermixed with spicy cardamom, black pepper, and earth. On the palate, its acidity brightens up the fruit and just begs for food. This bangs at room or slightly chilled.
Next is a pretty complex and character-filled wine from Quantum, Domaine Cinquante Points 2018 something we don't see too often from them. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon that spends 7 days on skins before being transferred to old oak barrels. Big hedgerow fruits with a hint of smoky tobacco on the finish, a wine that gets the conversation going for sure.
Last up is the Punk brother to Heresy Rose. Quantum's latest releases don't disappoint and Heresy White may well be our favourite out the bunch. Made from a blend of Muskateller and GemischterSatz all grown on granite soils and spend 3 days on skins before bottling. Juicy but with character, the wines got signature Muskateller vibes of pear and lychee with a slightly chalky texture and zippy acidity. Banger!
